It is not a good idea to use a middleman to find a lawyer since addition costs may be incurred. If you have any friends or relatives who had come across similar legal problems or transactions, ask them if they could refer any lawyer or law firm to you.

If you are looking for a solicitor firm (or a solicitor), please visit the Law Society of Hong Kong's webpage at http://www.choosehklawyer.org/en/index.asp.

If you want to find a barrister to act for you in legal proceedings, you normally have to instruct a solicitor to handle the co-ordination work. You can go to “ What are the main differences between Solicitors and Barristers? ” in order to know more about the services provided by solicitors and barristers. You can also visit the Hong Kong Bar Association's webpage at http://www.hkba.org/the-bar/bar-list/index-new-eng.html if you want to find the contact details of barristers.

If you may not be able to afford the legal costs, consider some free or subsidized legal services provided by the Legal Aid Department, Duty Lawyer Service or the Hong Kong Bar Association.
