3. Forcible Taking or Detention of Person, with Intent to Sell Him 

Under section 42 of the Offences against the Person Ordinance (Cap. 212): "Any person who, by force or fraud, takes away or detains against his will any man, boy, woman or girl, with intent to sell him, or with intent to obtain a ransom or benefit for his release, commits an offence triable on indictment and is liable to life imprisonment." 

This offence requires the elements of the common law offence of kidnapping, together with the additional intent of selling the victim, or of obtaining a ransom or benefit for the victim's release. A conviction for this offence attracts a lengthy custodial sentence.
