Certified Public Accountants

The Professional Accountants Ordinance (Cap. 50) (PAO) govern the accounting profession.

Removal from the Register under the PAO

Continued registration as a certified public accountant requires the accountant to be a "fit and proper" person under Section 24 of the PAO. An individual legally adjudicated as incapable of managing their own property may fail the fundamental competency test for a profession dedicated to managing the property of others.
