16. What will be the consequence if a company is found criminally liable for copyright infringement?

The penalty for a company found criminally liable for copyright infringement is a fine. In addition, if the infringing act is shown to have been committed with the consent of or to be attributable to any act on the part of any director, manager, secretary or other similar officer of the company or any person purporting to act in any such capacity, then the relevant person(s) and the company will both be criminally liable. This means that they may be liable to a fine and/or imprisonment pursuant to the relevant ordinance sections.
