Copying a False Instrument

Under section 72 of the Crimes Ordinance (Cap. 200), a person commits an offence if he makes a copy of an instrument which is, and which he knows or believes to be, a false instrument, and he intends that he or someone else will use the copy to get somebody to accept it as a copy of a genuine instrument and, by accepting it as such, to act (or not act) to his own or another person’s prejudice. The maximum penalty for this offence is 14 years’ imprisonment.
