B. Lion dances, dragon dances and unicorn dances

Under section 4C of the Summary Offences Ordinance (Cap. 228), a person who organizes or participates in a lion dance, dragon dance or unicorn dance, or any attendant martial arts display, in a public place commits an offence unless the activity is carried out under and in accordance with a permit issued by the Commissioner of Police, or the person has been exempted by the Commissioner of Police. The penalty is a fine of $2,000 and imprisonment for 6 months.
