C. Dangerous or annoying animals 

Under section 4(11) of the Summary Offences Ordinance (Cap. 228), a person commits an offence if, without lawful authority or excuse, he: 

 

  • keeps any dog accustomed to annoy neighbours or passers-by by barking or otherwise; 
  • allows any unmuzzled ferocious dog or other animal to be at large; or 
  • sets on or urges any dog or other animal to attack, worry or put in fear any person or animal. 

 

The penalty is a fine of $2,000 and imprisonment for 3 months.
