c) Duty to obey lawful and reasonable orders

The employee has an implied duty to obey the lawful and reasonable orders of the employers, which are requests and/or instructions that are “reasonable” to be carried out based on the employee's role or job description and “lawful”, meaning they do not contradict any existing laws.

Failure to obey the lawful and reasonable orders from the employers can amount to a fundamental breach of the contract of employment, and the employee will have to bear the burden to establish a reasonable excuse for not obeying any lawful and reasonable request.
