If my business is operated from home, can I recover business interruption losses under my home insurance, or do I need business interruption insurance?

This depends on the insurance policy you have.  If your insurance policy covers business interruption, there may be cover for business interruption losses.

As a policy holder, you have a duty of utmost good faith to disclose all material information at the time of applying for your insurance policy. In other words, a party to an insurance contract are required to act honestly and cannot mislead, conceal from, or incompletely disclose to the other party any key information that may affect risk assessment. If you did not disclose to the insurer that your business is operated from home, this could be a failure to disclose material facts and may affect your claim.
